The Dewsbury Conservatives are passionate about supporting local businesses in our area. That is why we are keen to promote Small Business Saturday in our area.
Small Business Saturday was set up to highlight the success of small businesses and to encourage more people to shop local and support small businesses in their community.
Small Business Saturday takes place each year on the first Saturday in December, one of the busiest shopping days of the year as people get ready for Christmas. It also hopes to have a lasting effect by encouraging people to change their habits and shop local on a regular basis.
On Small Business Saturday 2014, 16.5 million people shopped in a small independent business on the day, representing a 20% increase in footfall on 2013 or 2.7 million more shoppers. 64% of UK consumers were aware of the day.
This year, Small Business Saturday will take place on Saturday 5th December 2015.
Nearer the time, Small Business Saturday will release a free marketing pack to help local businesses promote Small Business Saturday and encourage people to shop local. These will be available to download or send off for in September. You will be able to access these when they become available on the Small Business Saturday website: https://smallbusinesssaturdayuk.com/.
