Dewsbury Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Mark Eastwood has recently written to the Archbishop of Canterbury about the plans for the Church Of England to build on the last remaining green space in Chidswell, Dewsbury which currently acts as a buffer, preventing the linking up of development with the neighbouring Cities of Leeds and Wakefield. He has invited the Archbishop to visit the greenfield site and meet with local campaigners.
Mark Eastwood said"“In light of Archbishop Justin Welby’s recent comments about a so-called ‘crisis of capitalism’, I have written to him on behalf of the local community to call on the Church of England to practice what it preaches and for him to personally intervene in helping us preserve the unspoilt countryside located at Chidswell for future generations to enjoy.”
